Tamborrada

If there is one trip/adventure/festival that you experience PLEASE LET IT BE  the "Tamborrada"

Every year on 20 January, the people of the city of San Sebastian, Spain celebrate this festival. The history is known that at midnight, in the  the mayor raises the flag of San Sebastián symbolizing the "start" of the festival.  For 24 hours, day and night, the entire city is awash with the sound of drums. The adults, dressed as cooks and soldiers, march in different companies across various parts of the city with different schedules. The celebration finishes at midnight when the city flag is lowered.

It is basically one HUGE party filled with meeting new people, tons of drinking and eating amazing food, constant drumming, costumes and many more crazy experiences!

Here is some of my memories from Tamborrada 2012...

Raising the Flag - PARTY STARTED
Free "drum sets" for everyone
Attempting to meet to friends ... in the rain and with a couple of drinks in us :)
